South Reading Vixens

With illness once again taking its toll, the Vixens had just seven players available and with no substitutes the girls would have to work hard all game. Throughout the first half the team defended well as they came under sustained pressure, with Keisha and Katie outstanding in defence. But the whole team battled brilliantly to keep the score at 0-0 at half time.

After a well earned rest, the Vixens came out fighting once again; keeper Keana was very busy but showed her ever improving skills. Laura made some brilliant runs down the line, playing some great crosses through to Georgia. But with only 4 minutes remaining there was a mix up in the box and Keana had no choice but to come off her line. As she went down to save, the ball looped over her and rolled slowly over the line while the Vixens could do nothing but watch as Westwood took the points.

The girls didn’t deserve to lose today as everyone played well, but Keisha was awarded player of the match with Keana coming a close second.
