Girls Football in South Reading

Vixens Go Down To Town

Thatcham Town A  3 - 1  South Reading Vixens
17th September 2005

Keisha - brilliant The Vixens struggled to get going against a strong Thatcham side, and paid the price when they went behind after just five minutes. The girls tried to battle their way back into the game but it wasn’t until Town doubled their lead that they woke up and started to get their game together.

The coaches had plenty to say at half time, and the team talk paid off when Georgia scored her first goal of the season to put the girls back in the game. Sadly the celebrations were short lived when a mix-up in the Vixens penalty area led to an own goal which restored Thatcham’s two goal advantage. This left the girls too much to do, and Town took the points as the Vixens slipped to their first defeat of the season.

Maya and Georgia impressed for the Vixens, whilst Keisha was outstanding in defence.

Squad: Keana, Jordina, Keisha, Jemma, Karla, Maya, Katie, Georgia

The Vixens player of the match went to Keisha, for her brilliant defending.
