South Reading Vixens

Girls Football in South Reading

Reading Girls 9 - 0 South Reading Vixens
5th March 2006

Kelsey - outstanding The Vixens again had to reorganise the team to cover the goalkeeping position, with Kelsey taking the number 1 shirt for the first time this season. The girls started brightly, but it was Reading who took the lead early on with a close range finish past the unsighted Kelsey. Thereafter the Vixens matched their distinguished opponents for the rest of the first period, with Charmaine forcing a good save from the Reading keeper midway through the half.

After an excellent 30 minutes, hopes were high that the Vixens could improve on their previous results against this team. Sadly it was not to be, and the hosts scored early on. Jessica and Charmaine went close as the girls pressed forward, but that was as good as it got. Reading added a third goal from the left, then another from the right as the Vixens failed to get a challenge in. With heads dropping, five more were conceded in the last ten minutes to complete a disappointing morning.

Squad: Kelsey, Karis, Ashleigh, Felisha, Jessica, Mikala, Jaye, Charmaine

The Vixens player of the match was Kelsey, who was outstanding in goal.
