South Reading Vixens

Girls Football in South Reading

South Reading Vixens 0 - 5 Cold Ash
14th January 2006

Hannah - impressive This game was scheduled to be a league fixture, but Cold Ash were sadly unable to round up enough registered players. However, they managed to make the squad up with a couple of unregistered girls so that we could play a friendly.

The Vixens had worked hard to secure a narrow 1-0 win against this team on the first day of the season, but the visitors had improved immensely since that day and put on a great display of passing and attacking football. In contrast, the Vixens were not with it at all as the formation became ragged and the goals went in at regular intervals. It wasn’t down to lack of effort – the girls worked hard, with Hannah particularly impressive on the wing. But the teamwork and co-ordination just weren't there today, and Cold Ash finished deserved 5-0 winners.

It is a great shame that the talented Cold Ash players are unable to pick up the points they deserve. They are also a great bunch of girls, and we hope that they will have better luck next season.

Squad: Dominique, Stacey, Shannon S, Nicole, Shannon B, Hannah, Deanna, Azara, Kamara

The Vixens player of the match was Hannah, who never stopped running.
