Girls Football in South Reading

South Reading Vixens 1 - 5 Wargrave
28th January 2006

Perri - worked hard On a frosty morning it took the Vixens some time to get started, letting a lively Wargrave side put on a good display of passing as they raced into a three goal lead inside the first ten minutes. It took the introduction of hard working sub Deanna to get the side up to speed, and she was the first Vixen to test the Wargrave keeper. This brought the girls to life, and Yasmin (twice), Shannon B and Deanna again all had opportunities. But Wargrave hit another just before the break to give themselves a comfortable four goal advantage at half time.

The visitors pressed forward from the restart, and a long range shot flew past Dom to extend their lead. The Vixens battled back and Yasmin had a couple more shots on target before finally getting the goal she deserved with a well struck effort from the right. Throughout the half defenders Shannon S, Perri and Zoe all worked hard to prevent any further score from Wargrave, but it was the visitors who claimed all three points.

Squad: Dominique, Shannon S, Zoe, Perri, Shannon B, Deanna, Yasmin, Azara, Kamara

The Vixens player of the match was Perri, selected by new coach Andreza for her hard work throughout.
