Alresford 1 - 6 South Reading Vixens
8th January 2006

Amber - excellent defending The longest journey of the season saw the Vixens travel to the idyllic setting of deepest rural Hampshire. As the north wind blew the rain across the valley a thorough warm up was required, with some of the travelling support later wishing that they had joined in as well.

Amber opened the scoring for the Vixens, finding the net with a well struck shot across the goal. Alresford pressed forward in search of the equaliser and keeper Olivia was called into action to make a good save. But she could only get a hand to the ball as the hosts drew level from a well worked corner, before Siobhan restored the Vixens lead midway through the half. Alresford again battled back, and Amber had to make a goal line clearance to keep the visitors in front. With half time approaching Alice hit the Vixens third and Stacey netted after Alana’s shot had been blocked.

After the break Jade lobbed the Alresford keeper to extend the Vixens lead, before Alice dribbled through the hosts defence to round off a comfortable victory.
