As the match progressed chances were few and far between, with the first real opportunity falling to Alice who saw her shot well blocked by the Wey keeper. The visitors then broke through with a good passing move, but were closed down by Charlotte and the ball went out for a corner. With both defences working hard neither keeper was troubled for a while until Hannah powered through the middle before firing her shot too close to the goalie. But five minutes later she made no mistake, coolly lobbing the onrushing keeper to put the Vixens in front. Siobhan then doubled the lead on the stroke of half time as her clever dummy deceived the entire Wey defence, leaving herself with a close-range tap in to put the girls 2-0 up. The visitors started the second half with renewed energy and took hold of the game as the Vixens began to tire. But the back line of Charlotte, Deanna and Amber held firm and confident goalkeeping from Olivia dealt comfortably with everything that the Valley forwards could offer, to secure a place in the semi-final. The Vixens player of the match award went to the whole team, for an outstanding performance.
