South Reading Vixens 14 – 0 Hart
20th November 2005

Amber - on form This wasn’t the best passing game Vixens have played but Amber, who has supported the team defensively of late, made the most of an attacking position. She scored four goals in fifteen minutes of the first half!

Jade scored in the opening minute, taking the Hart defence off-guard. As the goal tally rose, thanks to Amber, Alana put in one of her lobs – no one was going to get that! – and it landed in the back of the net. But 4-0 up, we had to defend with strength and skill, as Hart rallied. Thanks to defending by Alana, Olivia, Charlotte, Tanya, Jade and Sarah, Vixens kept a clean sheet. In fact, the scoresheet doesn’t reflect the effort put in by the under-strength Hart team, who never gave up despite playing with only eight players on the pitch.

The first half score of 9-0 included another lob by Alana and Hannah’s first goal (in her first match) for the Vixens, bypassing two defenders before shooting low into the goal.

In the second half, strong support from Sarah helped Femi get on the scoresheet, and Alice and Jade took advantage of Hart’s hesitation to score two more. Deanna tried a long shot – which was deflected into the goal – with the score completed by a fine effort from Siobhan; passing two defenders and the goalkeeper to score.
