South Reading Vixens 9 - 2 Farnborough Diamonds
29th January 2006

Deanna - impressive The Vixens can look forward to their 3rd concecutive NEHYL cup final after a comprehensive victory over Farnborough. The visitors started well, with Vixens keeper Stacey making a good save after a long ball through the defence. This brought the hosts to life, and just two minutes later Alana opened the scoring for the Vixens as she converted Deanna's excellent cross. The girls went further ahead shortly after, when Jade pounced on a loose ball and shot into the open goal. The Vixens were now on a roll, and Hannah, Deanna (2) and Alana (2) added their names to the scoresheet to send them into the break 7-0 up.

In the second half Farnborough made the most of any breaks and kept up the fight, but Siobhan capitalised on a poor goal kick to beat two defenders and add to the Vixens tally. Farnborough finally managed a reply midway through the half, but with the impressive Deanna putting in a player of the match performance the visitors goal came under siege again. Hannah’s long shot eventually rounded off the scoring for the Vixens before the Diamonds added a late consolation with the last kick of the game.
