South Reading Vixens

6th May 2006 - The Under 12's travelled to Mapledurham for a round-robin series of friendlies against four other teams as they began the transition to 11-a-side. Despite the weather the girls enjoyed the day, with a free barbecue to keep them going. Here, Nicole prepares to fire in a shot on goal.

13th May 2006 - The Under 10's picked up their first trophy as they won the Plate at the Whiteknights 6-a-side event. After a slow start in the group, the girls picked it up in the knockout stage to grab the Vixens first silverware of the summer tournaments.

25th May 2006 - Thanks to the generosity of local company The Directory, the Under 14's received a brand new kit to take to the upcoming Umbro tournament. The old shirts had seen some good times, but after 3 years, 100+ matches and countless tournaments they had also seen better days. Jade and Deanna are pictured here receiving the new kit on behalf of the team.

30th May 2006 - The health-conscious Under 12's flocked to McDonalds after training to celebrate the previous day's tournament triumph at Theale Tigers. Ashleigh and Yasmin show off the trophy.

25th June 2006 - There were more trophies for the Under 12's as they finished runners-up at the SCML tournament. With three U12 Vixens teams entered on the day, it was Rachel and Mandy's bunch who showed how it should be done.

3rd July 2006 - The Vixens fledgling ladies team began preparing for their forthcoming 5-a-side league campaign. They are pictured here after their first training session, having exceeded all expectations and mostly enjoyed it as well!

15th July 2006 - The Under 14's made off with the winners trophy at the Barton tournament, and were joined on the podium by the Under 12's who finished runners up in the Plate competition.

16th July 2006 - The Under 8's played at Barton the next day. Courtney and Jenna get tied up in knots as they wait quietly for their trophies.

17th July 2006 - Training night for the ladies. After completing their drills, they finish off with a match against the Under 17's. Here, Toni is in full flight as she heads towards goal.

22nd July 2006 - The Under 8's played a succession of friendlies throughout the year against Westwood. After a full season playing with the boys, captain Maddie shows no fear as she deals with a high ball.

28th July 2006 - The Under 14's rounded off their year with a return trip to the Umbro International Tournament. In this game they came from behind to beat Newcastle United 2-1, but Olivia had to head clear from a free kick to secure the points.
